My “Why”

I’m not exactly sure when I started doing this. There was no official launch or big announcement. I just remember someone needing help, I had the time and the skills, so I stepped in. That was the beginning. One task led to another, and before I knew it, I was working regularly with designers, photographers, consultants, and small business owners. Mostly creatives, mostly overwhelmed, mostly figuring things out as they go. The kind of people I genuinely enjoy supporting.

If I had to guess, I’d say it’s been around five years since this all began. It feels strange to put a number on it, because this didn’t come with a timeline or a business plan. It just became something real, slowly and naturally. And somehow, it’s become the work I feel most connected to.

Supporting creatives in Honolulu and across Oahu has given me something I didn’t even know I was looking for. It’s not just about ticking things off a to-do list or keeping someone’s calendar in shape. It’s about being part of someone’s momentum without needing to be at the front of it. I get to play a quiet role in helping people keep going, especially when things are moving fast and everything feels like it might fall apart.

There’s a particular energy creatives bring. It’s a mix of chaos, brilliance, and heart. One minute you’re reviewing a client contract, the next you’re mapping out a launch, and somewhere in there, you’re also trying to remember if you actually replied to that email. It’s a lot. And most of the time, you’re doing it without a full team or a safety net. That’s why I offer what I offer, support by the hour, flexible, affordable, no strings. Just real help, when you need it.

I’ve worked with people who only needed me for two hours during a crunch week, and others who bring me in off and on when they feel like they’re slipping behind. No matter the scope, the feeling is the same, relief. Not just because the work gets done, but because someone else is thinking alongside them for a while. Someone is paying attention to the details, to the parts they’re too busy to manage.

There’s a lot of pressure right now to be visible, to scale, to automate, to be everywhere all the time. And yes, I am building a brand. But I’m doing it differently. I’m building it with care, with consistency, and with boundaries. Not loud, not fast, just steady. The kind of brand that’s rooted in trust and actual results.

I like being the person who gets the text that says, “Can you help me untangle this,” or, “I can’t look at this spreadsheet one more time.” That’s the space I work best in. I’m not trying to go viral, I’m trying to be valuable.

Sometimes people are surprised when I say I still offer help at $35 an hour. No minimums, no contracts. But that’s the whole point. I want this to stay accessible. I want someone to be able to say, “I just need a bit of support right now,” and not have to commit to more than they can handle. That kind of flexibility has always felt more human to me.

Looking back, I might not be able to trace the exact timeline, but I know how this work has made me feel. Grounded, purposeful, and genuinely proud. There’s nothing flashy about what I do, and I like it that way. I get to help good people keep doing what they love, and that’s enough for me.

If you’re a creative in Honolulu or anywhere on Oahu and you’re in one of those heavy seasons, I hope you know you don’t have to carry all of it alone. Whether it’s clearing your inbox, getting your project files in order, or just getting organized for next week, I’m here. A few hours of help can make a big difference, and that’s the kind of work I’ll always be happy to show up for.
